Our Day of Orienteering and Abseiling Adventure!

We recently swapped the workshop and office for the great outdoors for a Readshaw Interiors team-building day of orienteering and abseiling.

It was a chance to get everyone together, try something different and put our teamwork to the test — with varying levels of confidence when it came to stepping backwards off a cliff!

Putting Our Navigation Skills to the Test

We started the day with an orienteering challenge, splitting into teams armed with maps and compasses.

It quickly became a test of communication, problem-solving and whether anyone actually knew which direction we were supposed to be heading.

There may have been a few wrong turns along the way, but working together eventually got us where we needed to be.

Taking on the Abseiling

Next came abseiling — and for some of the team, this was definitely the more daunting part of the day.

There were plenty of nerves at the top, but also lots of encouragement from everyone watching below.

Seeing people push themselves out of their comfort zone and complete the descent was a brilliant part of the day.

A Great Day for the Readshaw Team

Our day out was a reminder that good teamwork isn't just important in the workplace.

Communication, trust and supporting each other were just as important on the side of a cliff as they are when we're working together on a project.

Most importantly, everyone had a great time and came away with plenty of stories to tell.

We’re looking forward to the next Readshaw team adventure — although some of us might request something a little closer to ground level next time!
