Readshaw Interiors Shortlisted for Business Awards UK – A Celebration of Growth, Innovation & Community

We’re incredibly proud to share that Readshaw Interiors has been shortlisted for the prestigious Business Awards UK in the West Yorkshire category! 🎉

This recognition is a powerful validation of our journey — one that began over four decades ago and continues to thrive today through innovation, family values, and a deep commitment to our local communities.

A Journey Rooted in Family and Resilience

Founded in 1979 in Ilkley, Readshaw Interiors began as a small-scale pallet board manufacturer, contributing to the backbone of the local economy. What started as a humble family venture has since evolved into one of the UK’s most respected names in bespoke furniture manufacturing.

Our story took a pivotal turn after the untimely passing of our founder. At that time, Carl Readshaw inherited the business burdened with a £100,000 deficit — a moment of true adversity. But Carl’s determination to uphold his father’s legacy, combined with his forward-thinking leadership, saw the business rise to new heights. Today, Readshaw Interiors boasts a £2 million annual turnover, testament to Carl’s vision and the strength of our family-run ethos.

Pioneering Innovation in Furniture Manufacturing

One of the key factors in our success has been our embrace of cutting-edge technology. We were early adopters of CNC machining, automated panel processing, and laser cutting, enabling us to deliver precision, efficiency, and superior quality to every project. These advancements have allowed us to serve some of the world’s most recognized brands, including Stihl, KFC, Starbucks, and Bosch.

Supporting Our Communities: A Core Commitment

Despite our national and international success, our heart remains in West Yorkshire — particularly in Ilkley, Cowling, and Baildon. Giving back to our community is not just a value; it’s a responsibility we take seriously. We proudly sponsor Cowling Football Club, support Cowfest, and invest in future generations by donating football kits to FSC Academy, helping young athletes represent our region on international stages.

Our support also extends to projects like the Cowling Bike Pump Track, to which we donated supplies. This family-friendly facility, opening soon with a special appearance by 12-time world bike champion Jack Carthy, is a shining example of how businesses can shape healthier, more connected communities.

A Family-First Work Culture

At Readshaw Interiors, family isn’t just where we came from — it’s who we are. Carl continues to lead the company alongside his mother, who has played an integral role since the very beginning. His sister and children also live on the premises, making this business truly a family home.

We extend that same spirit to our team. Through team-building activities like skydiving, go-karting, and abseiling, we nurture a culture of collaboration, trust, and motivation. Our employees aren’t just workers — they’re part of the extended Readshaw family.

Recognition That Reflects Our Values

Being shortlisted for the Business Awards UK – West Yorkshire category is more than just a milestone — it's a reflection of the innovation, resilience, and heart that drive everything we do. We are incredibly honoured to be recognised among the region’s best, and we’re proud to represent West Yorkshire on this esteemed platform.

From all of us at Readshaw Interiors: thank you for your continued support. This journey has only been possible because of our amazing team, clients, partners, and community.

Here’s to the next chapter — and hopefully, to bringing home the award! 🏆
