Readshaw Interiors Takes on LIGNA 2023: Woodworking, Wonders, and Wacky Moments!
We’ve just returned from LIGNA 2023 in Hannover, Germany, and it certainly gave us plenty to think about.
LIGNA is one of the world’s leading trade fairs for woodworking and wood processing, bringing together manufacturers, technology providers and industry specialists from across the world.
For the Readshaw Interiors team, it was a great opportunity to see the latest developments in woodworking machinery, materials and manufacturing technology.
Seeing the Latest Machinery in Action
One of the highlights was seeing new machinery demonstrated live.
From cutting and machining to handling and processing, the level of speed, accuracy and automation on display showed just how quickly furniture manufacturing technology continues to develop.
Seeing the equipment operating in person also gave us plenty of ideas about how new technology could improve efficiency, accuracy and production capacity within our own workshop.
New Materials and Sustainable Solutions
Machinery wasn’t the only focus.
We also explored new materials and more sustainable approaches to woodworking and furniture manufacturing.
Sustainability continues to become increasingly important across the interiors industry, so it was useful to see how manufacturers and suppliers are responding with new materials, processes and technologies.
Meeting People From Across the Industry
LIGNA is also a great opportunity to meet suppliers, manufacturers and other people working across the woodworking industry.
Between the machinery demonstrations, conversations and the occasional German beer and pretzel, we came away with new contacts, ideas and plenty of inspiration.
Bringing New Ideas Back to Readshaw
Events like LIGNA give us the opportunity to look beyond our day-to-day production and see where the wider industry is heading.
We returned to Readshaw Interiors with fresh ideas around machinery, efficiency, materials and future investment.
And yes — also with sore feet after walking around what felt like several miles of woodworking equipment!
We’re looking forward to putting some of that inspiration into practice and continuing to develop our manufacturing capabilities.
